“The world is not the most pleasant place. Eventually your parents leave you and nobody is going to go out of their way to protect you unconditionally. You need to learn to stand up for yourself and what you believe and sometimes, pardon my language, kick some ass.”
-Queen Elizabeth II

Perfect Sky
It's possibly the most beautiful thing that you've ever seen, and all you want to do is reach up and run your fingers through that beautiful sky, catch a star between them and pull it back down.
Wire and Paper
I stumbled across the lovely site of Wire and Paper, and these beautiful paper flowers. Go take a look.

Snowflakes
We'll catch the snowflakes and hang them up for everyone to see, hide them through the summer until we can set them free.
White
He thinks it's important, to take time out of your time to doodle things onto foggy panes in large, loopy, script, whether it be song lyrics, grocery lists or never to be seen 'I love you's.
Queen
"And that was when they crowned me queen," She tells him in her story teller voice, and sticks the crown on her head and does a quick spin, stopping only to look over her shoulder at him. "Don't you think I'd make a lovely queen? Someday?" She asks, and he can only smile softly as she spins away, distracted by something else already.

Rocks
The water and the moss both love the rocks, the strength that it holds and the silent power it demands, but they love very differently. The water takes its time, constantly moving but ever so slowly changing it into something completely different, something that is entirely it's own, while the moss just clings to every space it can, flourishing as long as it promises to never ever let go.
Light
The light falls from the sky like rain, filtering through the clouds, turning everything to gold. And as they lay there, he doesn't notice how the fields look like stars, but only how lovely the other looks, drenched in sunlight.

Elizabeth Akers
If thou canst love another, be it so;
I would not reach out of my quiet grave
To bind thy heart, if it should choose to go -
Love should not be a slave.
I would not reach out of my quiet grave
To bind thy heart, if it should choose to go -
Love should not be a slave.

Talk With the Sea
Spine curved along the branch, limbs dangling on either side, she whispers things to the ocean, listening to the waves crash against the rocks in response, the tide moving in and out with the moon. She tells it all her secrets, and it whispers it's back. They keep each other's secrets, whispering them into the salty air, and wait for the sky to fall.

Elizabeth Gilbert
“A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave. A soul mate’s purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, and make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life.”

The Little Prince
" 'People have forgotten this truth,' said the fox. 'But you must not forget. You become responsible, for ever, for what you have tamed. You are responsible for your rose.'
'I am responsible for my rose…' the little prince repeated, so as to remember."

Boats
The silence tastes like winter and we wrap our jackets tighter around ourselves to keep warm, watching as the clouds cover the mountain. It's the most beautiful thing we've seen.

Truly
“Was I ever truly over her? At one time I was sure that the answer was yes. But if seeing her again – and merely touching her hand – could peel back so many layers of my heart, then did I ever stop loving her the way you’re supposed to stop loving everyone but the one you’re with?”

Coins
“When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you, but because in that brief moment when the coin is in the air,
you suddenly know what you are hoping for.”

Victor Hugo
"How did it happen that their lips came together? How does it happen that birds sing, that the snow melts, that the rose unfolds, that the dawn whitens behind the stark shapes of trees on the quivering summit of the hill? A kiss, and all was said."

Close
I wonder, sometimes, if you ever know when I'm lying. Am I that good at weaving words that you just accept whatever I create, or are you too afraid to find what's underneath?
Besides, in the end we'll all fall.
In My Head
Under the weight of your wings
You are a god and whatever I want you to be
And I wonder if truly you are
Nearly as beautiful as I believe

Minimalist Posters
These are some of the fantastic minimalist posters made for various movies by Ibraheem Youssef, Jamie Bolton, and Olly Moss. Most of the time, I liked them even better then the original. To see more, you can look at the original list or the artist's page.

The Molten Core
This world is hard. It has sharp edges and points that cut. It'll make you choose between love, money and sleep. Choose love each time and sleep when you can, money - only when you must.
Because this world is hard. And at times, it is too hard, for me.
Because this world is hard. And at times, it is too hard, for me.

Memories of You
Even now I still remember the walks through the park and the laughter as we flung leaves at one another. Now I walk by myself in that red hat you always liked and wonder how it would have been if things had gone differently.

Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Build therefore your own world. As fast as you conform your life to the pure idea in your mind, that will unfold its great proportions. A correspondent revolution in things will attend the influx of the spirit. So fast will disagreeable appearances, swine, spiders, snakes, pests, mad-houses, prisons, enemies, vanish; they are temporary and shall be no more seen. The sordor and filths of nature, the sun shall dry up and the wind exhale. As when the summer comes from the south and the snow-banks melt and the face of the earth becomes green before it, so shall the advancing spirit create its ornaments along its path, and carry with it the beauty it visits and the song which enchants it; it shall draw beautiful faces, warm hearts, wise discourse, and heroic acts, around its way, until evil is no more seen.”

Arrows
See, how strong love overwhelms us
See, how it wounds and destroys
And yet when Aphrodite wants to soothe me, nothing soothes as love does
So, my love, shoot me gently
Barely break my skin with your terrible arrows
See, how it wounds and destroys
And yet when Aphrodite wants to soothe me, nothing soothes as love does
So, my love, shoot me gently
Barely break my skin with your terrible arrows

Out of Sight
“It’s like seeing someone for the first time, and you look at each other for a few seconds, and there’s this kind of recognition like you both know something. Next moment the person’s gone, and it’s too late to do anything about it. And you always remember it because it was there and you let it go and you think to yourself what if I’d stopped, what if I’d said something, what if.”
~George Clooney, Out Of Sight

Heidi
The sky is so close to the ground and yet so far. If I try hard enough I can almost touch it. This is what you promise me as we lay flat on our backs, staring into the deep, hands outstretched as we watch the clouds float by.
That Feeling
“I love that feeling. You know, the one you get when you take a deep breath and suddenly everything feels like it’s going to be okay. When you’re hopeless as can be, and life is going nowhere, there’s those moments we have every now and then where we just stop, and we get this feeling, that can’t be described, but you just.. you just feel like everything really is going to be okay. Like the world stopped spinning for a second, and everything was clear. I need more of those moments.”
~The X
Shooting Stars
“You were flung across my sky like the brightest of shooting stars. The dust of you rained down around me, like cast off fireflies, they all burned out. Now I’m scared I’ll be blinded to any other light that might shine, there might be more fish in the sea, there might be more stars in the sky, but I feel like I’m alone in a boat…blind and without a fishing pole.”
